Friends OF THE Festivals FESTIVALS HELP BUILD YOUR COMMUNITY! Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival and Spring Daze Arts & Crafts Festival, with the assistance of a committee of volunteers, are administered through the Town of Cary's Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department, which is dedicated to providing a variety of events that focus on community building. DID YOU KNOW THE FESTIVALS ARE GIVING BACK? Each year, proceeds from the festival are given back to the community in the form of grants benefi ting projects that have a cultural arts focus, support the Town of Cary initiatives and support downtown Cary initiatives. During the past 39 years, over $650 million has been returned to the Cary community through this program and more than 70 nonprofi t organizations and projects have been impacted. YOU CAN HAVE A COMMUNITY IMPACT! Proceeds from the Friends of the Festivals contribute to off setting costs of producing each festival and assist in putting more money back into the community through the Lazy Daze Grants Program. By joining Friends of the Festivals, you will become a standard bearer, helping to continue the spirit and tradition of these wonderful festivals that defi ne our community as a great place to live, play and work! Her painting, Ringing in Lazy Daze, conveys community, fun, and change. Featuring the Town Crier and his wife, she highlights partnership between town government and community groups like Sister Cities, and the welcoming attitude of Cary citizens. Bright colors and balloons add fun to the artwork, and the vertical elements of the painting echo the change, energy and forward drive that makes the festival such a wonderful event.
