Community Outreach The chart summarizes community outreach by field operations during the months of July-September. Criminal Investigations Division (CID) *Cases become inactivated when there are no leads to follow-up. Community Services Unit (CSU) The CSU has focused on pro-active, intentional outreach efforts that illustrate the willingness and desire to promote positive law enforcement/community relationships, beginning specifically with our African American Faith-based leaders. There was an increase in total CSU activities over the quarter, resulting from increased home security assessments. The program has grown from 21 events in 2013 to 98 today. In addition to home security assessments, the CSU coordinated a Barbershop Rap Session at Headliners Barbershop in July, Shop with a Cop event at Target in August, and hosted a community/law enforcement panel at Hope Community Church in September. School Resource Officers (SRO) Camp Confidence kicked off in June with the first of two camps. Both had approximately 22 boys participating. The girls camp ran from July 25-August 5 with approximately 25 participants. This was one of the largest groups since the program began. The SRO team completed 10 lockdown drills in Wake County schools during this quarter.
