The exhibition will feature over 100 pieces of artwork, including paintings, photography, calligraphy, and folk art from award-winning Chinese artists. Cary Photographic Artists: Members Show Cary Arts Center Gallery Through Sunday, January 22 Medium: Photography The Cary Photographic Artists formed in January 2007 as Cary's only organization dedicated to the enhancement of photography in the fine arts. With a goal of education and the sharing of photographic technology, this club has over 140 members dedicated to promoting all levels of photographic knowledge through art. Brian Moyer: Nature on Canvas Herbert C. Young Community Center Gallery Through Monday, January 23 Medium: Photography Moyer's Nature on Canvas depicts the glory of the outdoors through photography on canvas, capturing everything from beaches, to wildlife, to National Parks. Barbara and Michael Guin: Guin Down the Coast Bond Park Community Center Tuesday, January 3–Tuesday, February 28 Artists Reception: Friday, January 6 | 6–8 p.m. Medium: Photography Mike and Barbara Guin explore coastal areas, appreciate nature's finest artistry, and capture stunning photographic moments. You are invited to enjoy their first photography exhibit, #GuinDownTheCoast, to experience a connection to the ever-changing coastal landscape. Progression: Kate Lagaly Cary Senior Center Monday, January 9–Friday, February 18 Artists Reception: Friday, January 27 | 6–8 p.m. Media: Varied Kate Lagaly's art exhibit, Progression, will include artwork from several of her recent series. Kate works in a variety of mediums. The show will include work in watercolor, colored pencil, pencil, gouache, acrylic, and mixed media. Subject matter will include people, plants, and animals. Ian McRainey: Out of This World Town Hall Gallery Friday, January 27–Sunday, March 26 Medium: Photography McRainey describes, "I've been interested by cameras and how they work ever since I was young. Nature and the ocean are what I am drawn to, and as of recently I've combined these subjects with astrophotography and that has taken my passion to a whole other level. It's these moments that I strive to capture in hopes other people can enjoy and gain the same out-of-world experience that I do."
