SPORTS PART TWO 100 REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org Badminton Serve N Play Youth Badminton Training (age 7–15) BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE Introductory course to the game of badminton. Kids who have never attended a Serve N Play training program or want to continue to improve on the basic skill sets, such as serve and rally, should sign up for this course. Rackets required. They will be available to purchase at the fi rst class. Location: Bond Park Community Center Instructor: Serve N Play Fees: $98(R) $128(N) (10 classes) 100403 Sat Jan 14–Mar 18 6:15–7:15 p.m. INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED For players who have previously attended a Serve N Play training program. Students must be able to serve and rally with consistency. The class is a continuation of the introductory badminton program and will focus on more advanced skill sets and game tactics. Location: Bond Park Community Center Instructor: Serve N Play Fees: $98(R) $128(N) (10 classes) 100404 Sat Jan 14–Mar 18 7:15–8:15 p.m. Baseball Basics of Throwing (age 5–7) Players of all ages need to work on throwing every day. This program will teach them how to properly throw the baseball in order to throw more accurately and with more strength. Proper throwing mechanics also reduce the chance of injury to the throwing arm. Parents are encouraged to participate. Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex Instructor: Town of Cary Baseball Instructors Fees: $10(R) $13(N) (1 class) 101277 Sun Mar 5 1–2 p.m. 101278 Sun Mar 5 2–3 p.m. Youth Baseball Hitting Clinic (age 5–7) This clinic is designed to teach up-and-coming players proper hitting techniques and helps current players with techniques to sharpen their skills during the season. Parents are encouraged to participate. Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex Instructors: Town of Cary Baseball Instructors Fees: $27(R) $35(N) (1 class) 101279 Sun Feb 26 1–2:30 p.m. Location: Thomas Brooks Park 101280 Sat Mar 18 10:30 a.m.–noon Town of Cary 1-on-1 baseball lessons are offered year round and are intended to develop, enhance, and build upon your player's skill level. Due to overwhelming popularity of lessons; available dates are released on the 25th of every month for lessons being held the following month. They will be posted on EZ-REG web and will be available on a fi rst come, fi rst serve basis. Please follow the prompts to indicate the type of lesson you would like. Lessons can be 30 minutes ($25) or an hour long ($40). Anyone can sign up for a 30 minute lesson; hour long lessons are viable for players age 10–17. PRIVATE INSTRUCTION Strength & Conditioning 1-on-1 Lessons The Town of Cary is excited to offer year round 1-on-1 Strength and Conditioning lessons with a focus in baseball and softball. All lessons will be led by a qualifi ed Strength and Conditioning instructor and they are for players age 12 & older. Individual Lessons are $50 per hour, each lesson will a mixture of baseball/softball training and Strength & Conditioning. Multi-Session Packages will be offered, they will be available in 4–Session ($190), 6–Session ($280) and 8–Session ($360) packages. Start improving your overall game and schedule a Strength & Conditioning lesson today. Lessons can be booked through the Town of Cary EZ-Reg system. Lesson availability will be added onto EZ- Reg each month starting on the 25th of each month prior i.e. March lessons will become available February 25.
