CONCERTS PART ONE 12 REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org Children's Theatre of Charlotte presents Commedia Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Saturday, February 18 | 3 p.m. In this show written by Nicole B. Adkins, a rambunctious group of traveling actors decides to perform the famous fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm. This commedia dell'arte performance recreates the story of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" complete with audience participation and other surprises. This slapstick comedy will have kids and parents in stitches! Paperhand Puppet Intervention Saturday, May 20 | 3 p.m. Fabricating fantastical worlds with the most ordinary of materials, Paperhand Puppet Intervention has been wowing audiences for over 15 years. Each production is new and original, and features giant puppets, stilt dancers, shadow puppets, and music. Friends of Page-Walker Concert Series The Friends of Page-Walker Concert Series offers intimate Sunday afternoon concerts that begin at 4 p.m. in the Main Gallery of the historic Page-Walker Arts & History Center. Celtic Moods and Melodies Sunday, January 15 | 4 p.m. Back by popular demand! Mara Shea and Roger Gold are known for their lively music from Scotland, England, Ireland, and North America. Their music is lyrical, melodic and upbeat; it can lift your spirits and make your heart sing. Brian Reagin Sunday, February 19 | 4 p.m. Page-Walker Arts & History Center Brian Reagin, violinist and Concertmaster of the North Carolina Symphony, returns as a favorite. Reagin, who captivates audiences with his brilliant performances, will treat concert goers to a classical repertoire on his Lorenzo and Tomasso Carcassi violin made in Florence, Italy in 1763. Don't miss this one; it sells out every year! Balsam Range Friday, April 21 | 7:30 p.m. This Haywood, NC bluegrass and acoustic group are winners of the 2014 International Bluegrass Music Association Entertainer of the Year and Vocal Group of the Year awards. The group infuses elements of jazz, country, gospel, swing, and old-time music into their fresh sound, while the musicians' fi ve distinct personalities create one remarkable musical experience. The Family Series The Cary Arts Center entertainment offerings also include a Family Series—family-friendly performances that can be enjoyed by young and old alike! All tickets are $8 each. Triangle Wind Ensemble presents Music in Motion Saturday, January 28 | 3 p.m. Triangle Wind Ensemble invites families to a "moving experience," with music that makes you want to sway to its lilt, clap your hands with joy, march to the beat, or do your own thing! Feel the sound. This outstanding band will have you dancing in the aisles. Remember Sneezy, Sleepy, Dopey, Grumpy, Bashful, Happy and Doc? Yes—the sweet little dwarfs that adored Snow White! Come design an enchanting dwarf mask inspired by these well-known fellows, or create and name a new adorable dwarf such as Jumpy, Dizzy, or Hoppy to use as your guise! Bring your masks to "Commedia Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" on February 18 for even more fun! Take a class on Feb 11 | 10:30 a.m.-noon or 1-2:30 p.m. Create a puppet of your own design. Then using your imagination, bring that character to life before your friends and family! Your puppet is invited to accompany you to the Paperhand Puppet Intervention performance on May 20.
