SPECIALIZED RECREATION PART TWO 138 REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org Outdoor Recreation Challenge Course School (age 11 & up) Join us for a practice run for the Challenge Course. We will put on harnesses and helmets, walk on cables, hang, and teach you to use equipment. This class will prepare you to go up high into the Challenge Course. Location: Fred G. Bond Metro Park, Ropes Shelter Instructor: Program Staff Fees: $11(R) $14(N) (1 class) 99303 Tue Apr 25 4:30–6 p.m. Family Time at the Challenge Course (age 11 & up) This class is for participants with special needs and their families. Enjoy time together, bring your family, and show them what teambuilding fun is all about! After the fun, join us for an evening picnic to celebrate! Location: Fred G. Bond Metro Park, Ropes Course Shelter Instructor: Program Staff Fees: $5(R) $7(N) (1 class) per person 99304 Tue Mar 21 4:30–7 p.m. Teambuilding Fun (age 11 & up) Come experience fun in the great outdoors with your friends and enjoy activities that stimulate teamwork, encourage cooperation, instill trust, and bolster confidence. Participants must be able to communicate and move independently over uneven terrain. Caregivers welcome! Location: Fred G. Ride the 35-feet high, 200-feet long zip line in Bond Park! Safety gear is used to keep participants safe. Instruction and assistance provided. Participants must be able to communicate and move independently over uneven terrain. Location: Fred G. Bond Metro Park, Ropes Course Shelter Instructor: Program Staff Fees: Fees: $13(R) $17(N) (1 class) BEGINNING ZIP LINE ADVENTURE 99305 Sat Mar 4 1–3 p.m. ADVANCED ZIP LINE ADVENTURE This class is an expansion of the Zip Line Adventure and is for individuals with special needs. Participants will climb a ladder to access the zip line. 99306 Sat May 20 10 a.m.-noon NEW! NEW! NEW! Nature Gardening with Native Plants (age 6 & up) This session includes planting in the Hemlock Bluffs' native wildflower gardens and potting up plants to take home to plant in your own yard. Wear old clothes and be ready to get your hands dirty! Location: Stevens Nature Center/Hemlock Bluffs Fees: $5(R) $7(N) (1 class) 102009 Tue May 2 4:30–6 p.m. Owl Prowl at Hemlock Bluffs (age 11 & up) Explore Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve at sunset! We will call for owls and search for other nocturnal wildlife. Location: Stevens Nature Center/Hemlock Bluffs Fees: $2(R) $3(N) (1 class) 101670 Tue Jan 24 5–6 p.m. Wildflower Stroll (age 11 & up) Wildflowers are in bloom at Hemlock Bluffs!
