Creating ACTIVE Retirement Years (919) 469-4081 17 Computer Learning What's New in Windows 10 FREE Windows 10 is a new operating system for personal computers, lap tops, notebooks and tablets. Windows 10 incorporates features from Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 with new and enhanced features. This hands-on workshop will demonstrate the new and enhanced features found in Windows 10 using the keyboard and mouse. This course is not for beginners, requires basic computer skills. Location: Classroom 302 99251 Thu Jan 19 1:30–4 p.m. 99250 Thu Mar 30 1:30–4 p.m. 99252 Tue May 16 1:30–4 p.m. Excel 1 Excel is a very comprehensive and popular spreadsheet program that will help you to organize, format, and calculate numerical data. This course will provide in-depth information about the functions of Excel and will explore techniques and ideas for creating Excel spreadsheets that are useful for seniors. You can record and analyze data about such diverse topics as money management, budgets, taxes, investments, bills, hobbies, and even games like Sudoku. A student Flash Drive is required. Location: Media Room Fees: $25(R) $36(N) (5 classes) 99248 M/W/F Jan 23–Feb 1 1:30–4 p.m. Cary Senior Technology Classes Join our computer classes that are designed by, and for, senior adults. These classes feature a system which includes small class size, hands-on experience (each student works at a computer!), trained teachers and on-site coaches providing additional assistance. All instructors are volunteer senior adults! If you are interested in volunteering with the computer program, you are encouraged to call (919) 469-4081. To take any of the classes, you must be 50 or older. Scholarships are available for class fees; please call (919) 469-4081 for more information. All students are required to bring a 1GB (or larger) thumb drive (flash drive) to classes or you can purchase one at the front desk for $10 each! Computer Club The Computer Club membership consists of local seniors, 55 years old or above. Meetings are held the second Saturday of each month at 1:30pm at the Cary Senior Center, in classroom 302. Meetings revolve around a presentation by members or outside speakers on computer related topics of general interest to the members. Presentations have covered Windows, Macintosh and Linux computers.
