Introduction to Macintosh Computers Apple's Macintosh computers provide an excellent alternative for home computer users because of their ease of use and enhanced security. In the three classes, you will learn: 1) the basics of the Macintosh operating system, including the file management system, the menus and preferences, 2) using the included applications and 3) using the online Mac App Store, and other trusted sources, to obtain applications and 4) the best ways to purchase a Mac. You will be provided with the course slides for you later reference. Bring you Mac laptop. Fees: $15(R) $20(N) (3 classes) 99234 Tu/W/Th Apr 11–13 1:30–4 p.m. iOS Basic: Introduction to iPad and iPhone This course will focus on mobile devices from Apple to illustrate their capabilities and underlying concepts. In this course you will be shown how to set up these devices and be provided with a brief overview of the many applications (apps) available including the Find My iPhone app. Bring your iPad and/or iPhone along as well as your Apple ID and password. Fees: $5(R) $6(N) (per class) 99230 Wed Jan 11 1:30–4 p.m. 99231 Wed Mar 1 1:30–4 p.m. 50 + Android for Tablet Tablets are an affordable and available from multiple manufacturers. The tablets provide easy access to the internet and share many apps with smartphones. Learn to set up and use these devices and enjoy a brief overview of popular apps. Bring your own device. Students are advised to be familiar with the basic operations of their device prior to the class.
