26 January-May 2017 Cary Senior Center Education Beyond the Weeds Garden Series FREE Calling all beginner and experienced gardeners, you'll really dig these programs. This series will focus on a variety of gardening topics from working with certain plants to composting to planting for the season and much more. Location: Classroom 302 PURPLE MARTINS A brief history of purple martins and their interaction with humans, why they need our help, how to interact with them and how to protect and manage a colony. Presented by Courtney Rousseau, President of the N.C. Purple Martin Society 99146 Thu Jan 26 9:30–11 a.m. SEED PROPAGATION A few proven steps can help guarantee your success in starting plants from seeds. Learn about germination conditions and techniques, how to properly transplant seedlings and fertilization. Presented by Leah Dail, Master Gardener. 99147 Thu Feb 23 9:30–11 a.m. Drop-in Activities FREE Drop-In Activities are available to adults 55 plus to enjoy onsite while the center is open to the public. WIRELESS ACCESS The Cary Senior Center is Wi-Fi from end-to-end. Bring your personal laptop computer, iPhone, PDA or other Wi-Fi- enabled device and take advantage of this free Wi-Fi service. BOARD GAMES Whether you prefer checkers to scrabble or chess to backgammon, grab a friend or two and play one of our games. Games are stored in Classroom 303. Granpaparazzi Photo Club This club is for those interested in learning more about photography from each other's photography experiences and knowledge, in a friendly and unintimidating environment. First order of business will be exploring ideas for activities, such as day trip photo shoots, Photoshop techniques, picture critiques, and Gear news and discussions. If you are interested in joining like-minded amateurs in a quest for photographic excellence! 4th Thursdays Monthly 1:30-3:30 p.m. • Classroom 302 Say CHEESE! Cary Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department photographs program participants to use in pub- lications. We can't be everywhere to take pictures.
