REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org 45 SPORTS Beginner Fencing Camp (age 9–18) What can be more exciting for kids than learning how to use a sword! Fencers will learn the basics through fun activities. The camp is geared toward those who are new to fencing and those fencers who are taking the beginning classes. All equipment is provided. Location: Middle Creek Community Center Instructor: Apex Fencing Academy Fees: $350(R) $380(N) (5 classes) 102726 Mon-Fri Jun 26–30 9 a.m.–4 p.m. T1 102729 Mon-Fri Jul 24–28 9 a.m.–4 p.m. T4 Competitive Foil and Epee Fencing Camp (age 10–18) This camp will help fencers prepare for competition. Schedule will include conditioning & strengthening, footwork, technique and tactics, group lessons, and bouting. Team and individual competition will be part of the training. Requirements: 1 year of fencing, fencing gear, USA Fencing membership. Location: Middle Creek Community Center Instructor: Apex Fencing Academy Fees: $350(R) $380(N) (5 classes) 102732 Mon-Fri Jun 19–23 9 a.m.–4 p.m. T1 102733 Mon-Fri Aug 14–18 9 a.m.–4 p.m. T3 Beginner/Intermediate Fencing Camp (age 10–18) This camp is geared toward new fencers, including those taking beginner classes. Fencers will be divided into groups based on experience—new fencers learn basic skills while others continue to develop and improve their skills. All equipment is provided.. Location: Middle Creek Community Center Instructor: Apex Fencing Academy Fees: $350(R) $380(N) (5 classes) 102971 Mon-Fri Aug 7–11 9 a.m.–4 p.m. T3 Soccer Mini Kickers Soccer (age 3 ½-6) This program will introduce your young soccer star to the basic skills. Our British coaches are experts at working with young children and will combine soccer with fun games, stories, and music! Join Lenny the Lion as you learn our theme song! Course fee includes soccer ball and t-shirt. Location: Bond Park Community Center Instructor: Challenger Sports Academy Fees: $110(R) $140(N) (4 classes) 102625 Mon-Thu Aug 14–17 8:30–10:30 a.m. T3 Golf TGA Camp at Bond Park (age 5–8) Putting, chipping, driving, oh my! From the green to the tee, we offer four days of golf etiquette, safety, and fun. This program will be a beginning introduction to golf. All equipment will be supplied. Location: Fred G.
