40 REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org OUTDOOR RECREATION Outdoor Skills— Overnight Camp (age 11–17) Come learn your outdoor skills and then put them into practice. Program will be similar to the full day camp, with the addition of a supervised overnight campout within Bond Park. Overnight is on Thursday night, with pick-up at 9 a.m. on Friday morning. Location: Fred G. Bond Metro Park Instructor: Program Staff Fees: $250(R) $280(N) (5 classes) COED 102606 Mon-Thu Jun 19–23 9 a.m.–4 p.m. T1 GIRLS ONLY 102808 Mon-Thu Jul 31–Aug 4 9 a.m.–4 p.m. T3 Boating Camp (age 11–17) The week-long session is filled with time on the water learning paddling strokes, sailing terms, and independence on the water. Camp is limited to a small group so participants get personal attention and instruction. Participants will experience two days each of sailing and canoeing and one day of kayaking. Location: Fred G. Bond Metro Park, Boathouse Instructor: Program Staff Fees: $150(R) $180(N) (5 classes) 102585 Mon-Fri Jun 26–30 9 a.m.–noon T1 102586 Mon-Fri Jul 10–14 9 a.m.–noon T4 102587 Mon-Fri Aug 7–11 9 a.m.–noon T3 Fishing Camp (age 11–17) Campers will learn the basics of freshwater fishing; learn the proper way to bait hooks with a variety of bait; and learn the basics of casting with close-faced reels and cane poles. Cleaning and cooking your catch will be discussed. Campers are encouraged to bring their own rod/reel, but equipment will be provided. Location: Fred G. This camp will concentrate on more advanced fishing techniques, including fishing with artificial baits and fishing from boats, as well as more traditional bank fishing. Anglers are invited to bring their own gear, but basic fishing gear will be provided if needed. Prior fishing experience isn't required, but will be helpful. Location: Fred G. Bond Metro Park, Boathouse Instructor: Bryan Craddock Fees: $140(R) $170(N) (5 classes) 102597 Mon-Fri Jun 26–30 9 a.m.–noon T1 Outdoor Skills Camp— Half Day (age 11–17) This half-day camp offers a great way to try multiple outdoor recreation activities in one place. Participate in archery, boating, fishing and orienteering. This is a great way to experience the outdoors and find a new passion. All equipment is provided. Location: Fred G. During this camp, participants will be immersed in the outdoors. The week-long camp will cover a whole host of outdoor skills including archery, ropes course, boating, fishing, first aid, shelter building, and much more. All equipment is provided. Bring a bag lunch and join us for lunch between camp sessions. Campers using the lunch option, whole or in part, are required to pay the full fee. Location: Fred G.
