14 June-August 2017 Cary Senior Center Computer Learning Listening to Podcasts NEW & FREE Listen to your favorite radio shows anytime and anywhere you want—FREE! This one-day seminar will get you started on streaming or downloading podcasts. A podcast is a recording of a radio show that is available for FREE subscription and download. Recordings have limited sponsorship announcements instead of commercials like broadcast radio. Learn what you need to know about listening to podcasts in this informative free seminar. Get step-by-step instructions in class and take home a manual so you can listen to what you want when you want—you're in control! Location: Classroom 302 104228 Mon Aug 7 1:30–4 p.m. Cary Senior Tech Ed Classes Join our computer classes that are designed by, and for, senior adults. These classes feature a system which includes small class size, hands-on experience (each student works at a computer!), trained teachers and on-site coaches providing additional assistance. All instructors are volunteer senior adults! If you are interested in volunteering with the computer program, you are encouraged to call (919) 469-4081. To take any of the classes, you must be 50 or older. Scholarships are available for class fees; please call (919) 469-4081 for more information. All students are required to bring a 1GB (or larger) thumb drive (flash drive) to classes or you can purchase one at the front desk for $10 each! Computer Club The Computer Club membership consists of local seniors, 55 years old or above. Meetings are held the second Saturday of each month at 1:30pm at the Cary Senior Center, in classroom 302. Meetings revolve around a presentation by members or outside speakers on computer related topics of general interest to the members. Presentations have covered Windows, Macintosh and Linux computers.
