16 June-August 2017 Cary Senior Center Education Bounty of Summer From your backyard to the local farmer's market there are endless selections of fresh produce! Summertime is a great time to visit your farmer's market, or harvest from your garden, and begin preparing of a wonderfully fresh meal! With that said, our menu will use a selection of seasonal produce that we will incorporate, poultry, beef, and seafood dishes. Our creations will be delicious, fresh, and made by you! Learn secrets of crepe batter and practice making (and eating!) sweet and savory crepes. Crepe pans will be supplied, but if you have one, bring it! All food is included! You can do this! Catering Fees: $25(R) $33(N) (1 class) 104238 Thu Jun 15 10:30 a.m.–noon COOKING WORKSHOPS Learn new techniques, increase your recipe library, or just join the group for a fun morning of cooking and sampling. In addition to the cooking session, we will discuss selection of alternate ingredients for healthier selections, ease in preparation, smart shopping with the season, etc. All classes are 'hands-on' and encourage creativity for all individuals. Health-icious Salads Discover creative, easy ways to create delicious and healthy salads and dressings. Focus is to be able to make it from scratch with ease, and to maintain a healthy eating style without sacrificing taste. Recipes use a variety of unique ingredients to make three different dressings and salad combinations. We will be utilizing these herbs to create culinary creations for summertime menus. We will have a fish and poultry entree, as well as a vegetarian entree, complimented by sides for you to prepare and enjoy at the end of the class. Recipes will be delicious without involving a hot summertime kitchen. Please join us for this "herb-tastic" morning of cooking!
