4 June-August 2017 Cary Senior Center Trips ▶ Trips Let's hit the road and discover sites around the triangle. All trips leave from Cary Senior Center. You must be at Cary Senior Center by the scheduled time. Return times are approximate. Space is limited and costs cover only admission and transportation, unless noted otherwise. See each description for details. Register early because reservations must be made and paid for in advance to secure our trip. There are NO REFUNDS for cancellations. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes! Location: Lobby Not Your Everyday Grind Historic Yates Mill County Park is often described as one of Wake County's best kept secrets. Learn about the only operable mill in the county then jump on the bus and we'll go see it! GoCary will transport the group to Yates Mill Park and educational center. After touring the center and site, we will stop by a local ice cream shop. Fee includes program, transportation, and tour; ice cream and other purchases are not included. Beginning level hiker, moderate walking over uneven surfaces. Instructor: Sandra Kunbargi Fees: $12(R) $16(N) (1 class) 103960 Thu Jun 8 9:15–1:30 p.m. Revolution in Paint NC Museum of Art conservator Perry Hurt will describe how radical changes in artist's pigments during the 19th century spurred a revolution in painting techniques for future artists. Following his presentation, Perry will guide our group through the museum's Impressionist Gallery to view the artistic revolution. We'll stop at Char-Grill for their famous hamburger-steak specialties and frosty shakes before returning to Cary Senior Center. Transportation and tour included in fee. Lunch and other purchases are on your own. Light to moderate walking over uneven surfaces. Captain Don will provide historic, scientific and environmental perspectives on the vital role the lake plays in our region. Enjoy his well-researched presentation while relaxing on board and partake of light appetizers and soft drinks provided by Triangle Boat Tours. Moderate to heavy walking over uneven surfaces.
