Teens Making a Difference!
The Cary Teen Council is a volunteer service
organization made up of current middle and high
school students who love to make a difference in
their community! Members have the opportunity
to volunteer all year long while developing
leadership, communication skills and responsibility
Fun Fact
Between June 1 and March 31, Cary Teen Council
members volunteered over 17,000 hours at over
1,000 different event shifts!
Want to Get Involved?
New for 2017/18 – there will be a limited
amount of spots available for new member
registration. Applications for new members will
be accepted beginning June 1 for our 2017/18
year. Updated information will be available by May
24 at www.townofcary.org by searching 'Teen
Council'. Please see page 22 for an application
and register at any Town of Cary community
center or online using the course code 105212.

Each year at the Annual Volunteer Awards banquet, the Town of Cary Parks, Recreation & Cultural
Resources Department gives various awards to outstanding awards. This year, Namrata Jumani (above)
was named the Most Outstanding Teen volunteer. Congratulations to Namrata!
