Still life is not limited to displays of fruit on a table: bring your own photographs of what you wish to paint within the genre. Experience is not necessary. A refresher for experienced painters. Composition, set-up, brush types and handling, color-mixing and theory, as well as several application methods such as underpainting, glazing, scumbling, and broken color will be presented. Hands-on exercises are designed to increase understanding of basic concepts. Supply list provided on receipt. Use acrylic paints to spray, stamp, splatter, scribble, and scrape paint. Color composition, and different styles of abstraction from cubism to minimalism will be explored. Learn to show recession of the elements to give depth to the painting. Mix colors found in nature and learn to give perspective to your work. Then put it all together and paint a beautiful landscape.
