Each session is primarily a field excursion with a classroom session relevant to a specific nature topic. Equipment provided. Fees: $12(R) $16(N) (1 class) SUMMER ANIMAL SURVEY Explore Swift Creek and the surrounding wetland as we search for snakes, salamanders, fish, and more. 104543 Sat Aug 26 10 a.m.–noon Hemlock Nature Quest (age 13–15) If you think your child has seen everywhere at Hemlock Bluffs, think again! These programs journey to far corners of the Preserve on a quest to find nature rarely seen by the public or other program participants. Dress for the weather and off-trail conditions. Bring your sense of adventure! (HNQ participants are eligible to volunteer as program assistants for our younger nature programs.) Fees: $12(R) $16(N) (1 class) NOCTURNAL WILDLIFE SURVEY Join us as we search for summer nocturnal wildlife. Equipment provided. 104544 Sun Jun 11 7–9 p.m. Adult Nature Adult Nature Programs (age 16 & up) Stretch your legs, clear your mind, and experience nature. You'll continue your lifelong learning through informative and educational nature walks that are focused on seasonal plant and wildlife activity. May involve some slow walking on steps. Location: Stevens Nature Center/Hemlock Bluffs Fees: $6(R) $8(N) (1 class) BIRDS AND BUGS We'll search for singing birds and the bugs they like to eat! Our adventures encourage the understanding and appreciation of the natural world at night. This old-fashioned camp-style program includes nature activities and crafts, night hikes, and campfire snacks around the fire pit. Each program has a different nature topic.
