TENNIS PART TWO REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org 79 Junior Team Tennis Junior Team Tennis (JTT) is the largest youth tennis league in the country. The emphasis is on skill development, fun, teamwork, and friendly match-play competition. Level of play ranges from beginners to advanced tournament player. Seasons are typically 6–8 weeks long and include regularly scheduled practices, matches, and an end-of- season pizza party. AGE DIVISIONS All age groups include Recreation, Intermediate, and Advanced divisions. Age groups offered are: 8 & Under, 10 & Under, 12 & Under, 14 & Under, and 18 & under. For more information, call (919) 462-2061. JTT COMPETITION (age 8–18) Junior Competition is structured for the intermediate-level player looking for more practice time. Drills are structured around playing situations and point development. Stroke mechanics are stressed along with the improvement of the serve. Family Fun All programs are at the CTP unless otherwise noted. Family Fun Tennis (age 3–99) Want to introduce the sport of a lifetime to your child? Then this is the class for you! During this session, the instructional staff teaches basic tennis strokes and techniques in an interactive format for you and your child. Children also learn drills and games they can take to their neighborhood courts or driveways. Each youth registration must be accompanied by one adult registration. This program combines practices, live ball drills, and match play in a 1½-hour timeframe, allowing the player to quickly reinforce the new skills they have learned. Stroke development, court positioning, and basic singles/doubles strategy are covered. Serving and match scorekeeping are also a component of the program. Coaching staff will supervise match play. All Starter JTT programs are at the CTP unless otherwise noted.
