Spring Daze Arts & Crafts Festival and Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival are administered through the Town of Cary's Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department, which is dedicated to providing a variety of events that focus on community building. You Can Have a Community Impact! Proceeds from Friends of the Festivals contribute to offsetting costs of producing each festival and assist in putting more money back into the community through the Lazy Daze Grants Program. By joining the Friends of the Festivals, you will become a standard bearer, helping to continue the spirit and tradition of these wonderful festivals that define our community as a great place to live, play and work! Each year, proceeds from the festival are given back to the community in the form of grants benefiting projects that have a cultural arts focus, support the Town of Cary initiatives and support downtown Cary initiatives. During the past 40 years, over $700,000 has been returned to the Cary community through this program and more than 70 nonprofit organizations and projects have been impacted. Featured Artist Stefan Bottomley of Cary High School created this abstract piece to emulate the complexity and diverse nature of spring. The work consists of an array of colors imagined when visualizing spring. Stefan wanted to recreate and mimic the movement of wind. He also wanted to convey how this pattern impacts the budding flowers and the emotions associated with spring. This piece of art, in addition to others submitted for the honor, will be on display at the Bond Park Boathouse during the festival, located in Section G. Dose of Spring
