Cary Teen Council During this quarter, the Teen Council provided over 3,600 hours of volunteer time, which was an 11% increase over the same period last year. The teens were able to celebrate all of their efforts with the Cary Gold Medal. Congratulations to this year's winner of Most Oustanding Teen, Namrata Jumani, which was recognized at the volunteer banquet on March 15. The Teen Council hosted auditions for the 2nd annual Triangle's Got Talent at The Cary, which raised over $1,600 for Read & Feed, a local organization with a mission to help develop reading skills for children of all ages. In total, 37 talent acts auditioned for the main event. Senior Programs Attendance at senior programs increased 6% this quarter while program revenue increased 16% over last year. The Town hosted several NC Senior Games clinics with participants from across the state. Cary Senior Center continues to work closely with the Wake County Senior Games staff on activities such as the Cary Road Race. "Brews and Brushes" Cary arts staff partnered with Pharmacy Bottle & Beverage on an innovative program which allowed participants to learn about painting with acrylics at Pharmacy while enjoying their favorite beverage and the ambiance of the downtown scene.
