WakeMed Soccer Park The Carolina RailHawks kicked off 2017 as the newly branded North Carolina Football Club (NCFC). In addition, in January, NCFC announced that the Western New York Flash of the National Women's Soccer League would be rebranded as the NC Courage and brought to Cary. Play begins for the women in April. USA Baseball National Training Complex In March, the NTC hosted 16 of the best high school baseball teams in the country for the annual National High School Invitational. Overall, this past quarter saw more than 16,000 players and spectators visit the stadium. Cary Tennis Park New Year - New You Program Community centers collaborated to offer this program, which offered citizens a week of free "try it" programs. Over 200 participants attended fitness and wellness activities, with 99 registering for classes throughout the winter/spring program cycle. This generated over $6,000 in revenue. Teen Scene - Tactical Paintball Trip Teen Scene participants traveled to a new paintball field, Black Ops Paintball in Fayetteville, for the annual paintball trip. This year, participants received a 40-minute tactical lesson from a veteran and pro paintballer. The teens were given safety tips and the chance to practice tactical skills such as low crawling, target practice and how to communicate with team members. Winter Wonderland This year, we saw almost 800 participants attend the snow tubing event. This generated approximately $14,000 in revenue. A separate parent/child session was offered allowing dual riders for youth age five and younger. The Atlantic Tire Championships, the ATP Men's Professional Challenger Event, has been renewed for 2017. The Tennis Park hosted a number of tournaments this quarter, including the Polar Doubles Adult tournament in February, the Level 1A Championships for boys/girls ages 11-14, and the Mercedes Benz Championships for ages 8-18.
