SPECIAL EVENTS REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org PART ONE 15 Letters to Santa: Santa's Mailbox November 20–December 10 Town Hall We've made special arrangements for Town Hall to be a drop-off sitwe for letters to Santa Claus! Little ones enjoy this annual tradition as we prepare for Santa's fl ight over Cary. Drop off letters in the Santa Mailbox on Town Hall campus before December 10 and your child will hear back from our jolly friend in red! Include your child's name and return address on each letter. Heart of the Holidays 7th Annual Gingerbread House Competition Saturday, December 2 Downtown Cary Create a gingerbread house yummy enough for an elves' visit! The houses will be on display in Downtown Cary on December 2. Winning houses will be on display during December at the Cary Arts Center. Entry forms due by November 22; completed gingerbread houses due on December 1. Santa's Workshop Saturday, December 2 | 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Ages 10 & Under With Caregiver Herbert C. Young Community Center Children can enjoy a variety of craft stations and enjoy a visit with the white bearded guy from the North Pole! While at Santa's Workshop, you can support the Cary Teen Council's food drive by sending each child with two non- perishable food items or a cash donation. All proceeds will be donated to charity. There will be a 20-minute break at 11:30 a.m. so Santa can feed his reindeer. Page-Walker Holiday Open House Saturday, December 2 | 4–6 p.m. | Free Page-Walker Arts & History Center Get into the holiday spirit with some old-fashioned Christmas fun at the Page-Walker's Holiday Open House. Learn about Victorian holiday traditions while touring the 1868 historic hotel. Listen to Victorian Carolers and take a horse-drawn carriage ride. Taste holiday treats and view historic rooms decorated for the season by the Friends of Page-Walker. Holiday crafts for the kids, too! Heart of the Holidays 6th Annual Gifting Tree Project Saturday, December 2—Tuesday, January 2 Downtown Cary You are invited to participate in a Christmas Tree Decorating Contest in Downtown Cary with a charitable twist! Represent your family, organization, school, or more as we line the streets of Downtown Cary with lighted trees. The public is invited to vote and the winning tree will have a donation (provided by our Gifting Tree Project sponsor) to the non-profi t group of their choice. Other prizes will also be awarded. Registration forms are due November 22. Cary Players presents A Christmas Story by Philip Grecian Saturday, December 2 | 3 & 7:30 p.m. Cary Arts Center We triple-dog dare you not to miss humorist Jean Shepherd's heart-warming story of Ralphie Parker's quest to get a Red Ryder BB gun under the Christmas tree. Bring the family to the Cary Arts Center for this holiday classic! Tickets online at www.caryplayers.org or at The Cary Theater box offi ce. Additional performances December 1–4. Town of Cary Christmas Tree Lighting Saturday, December 2 | 6 p.m. | Free Town Hall Campus Welcome in the holiday season with the offi cial Christmas Tree lighting for the Town of Cary. This festive night features actors, singers, and musicians from the community. We'll also unveil the Cary Community Christmas Tree inside Town Hall. Over 125 community groups provide handcrafted ornaments to be displayed on the inside tree—a true representation of the diversity of Cary. Heart of the Holidays SANTA'S WORKSHOP
