September 15th Annual FALC Senior Exhibition Cary Senior Center Monday, August 21—Friday, September 22 Artist Reception: Friday, August 25 | 3–6 p.m. Medium: Mixed Cary Senior Center and the Fine Arts League of Cary will be hosting the 15th Annual Seniors Art Exhibition. This art show features two-dimensional art made by local residents over the age of 55! The maximum size of work will be 18"x24" and no photography will be accepted. Fees and more details will be in the entry information. There will be ribbons and awards. Sunny Lee: Squatters Cary Arts Center Gallery Through Sunday, September 17 Medium: Photography Squatters don't pay rent. They leave the space like rock stars leave hotel rooms. Despite the untethering that occurs once we cut the power and they exit the efficiency apartment, the connection a mother feels to her formal occupants is eternal. Jamie Junghyun Woo: Being Cary Arts Center Display Cases Through Sunday, September 17 Medium: Metals Junghyun uses small scale and delicate fine metals to transport the viewer into forms of visual poetry. Her breadth of craftsmanship is exceptional. Don Hamilton: Many Coats of Colors Page-Walker Arts & History Center Through Saturday, September 23 Artist Reception: Friday, September 15 | 6–8 p.m. Medium: Acrylics on board or canvas The influence of Robert Motherwell, Franz Kline, Richard Diebenkorn, and Raleigh artist Bob Rankin, combined with his urge to create and experiment, Hamilton has created a striking group of abstract works with the common theme of bold color. J Harris: Beauty in Cary Page-Walker Arts & History Center Through Saturday, September 23 Artist Reception: Friday, September 15 | 6–8 p.m. Medium: Photography With an eye for finding beauty in the details all around us, J Harris brings us up close and personal with his subjects. In this exhibit, he shares his particular perspective of Cary through a collection of photographs taken within our lovely town, including the historic Page-Walker.
