Construction using various glass tools and incorporating stringers, frit, and dots lets you be as creative as you'd like. You will be amazed at your own talent. Silver soldering, sawing, forging, finishing, and surface embellishments are just some of the techniques covered. Using sheet metal and wire each student will have an opportunity to create projects of their own. Supplies can be purchased at the Cary Arts Center. Instructor: David Tomlin Fees: $81(R) $108(N) (4 classes) 107050 Mon Sep 18–Oct 9 6:30- 9:30 p.m. Effortless Metal Forming by Hydraulic Press (age 16 & up) Copper and silver sheet can be pressed into three- dimensional forms by applying hydraulic press, using a die to define the shape of the outer edge. It makes forming more accessible, and creates the depth and volume to a personal ornament. Prerequisite: A Beginning Metals and Jewelry class. Successful completion of a Beginning Metals class class qualifies students to purchase a Metals Studio Card to access the studio and use the equipment to work on individual projects.
