PERFORMING ARTS PART TWO 66 REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org Piano in Pairs (age 8-12) These semi-private lessons allow students to follow individualized course of study with one-on-one instructor time. Focus on developing proper technique, learning basic principles of music theory, and learning to play new pieces in a two-student setting where we learn with and from each other! Instructor will give details about book to purchase after first lesson. Learn the basics, including notes, rhythms, chords, ear training and simple songs. Students should purchase Bastien Piano Basics: Piano Primer Level before the first class. There is a recital on Wednesday November 15. Instructor: Baxter Smith Fees: $105(R) $135(N) (10 classes) 105307 Wed Sep 6–Nov 8 4:30–5:30 p.m. 105308 Wed Sep 6–Nov 8 5:40–6:40 p.m. Level II Piano (age 7–12) Expand your skills! For those students who have completed the Beginning Piano or an equivalent multi- week course. Small class size ensures individual attention from instructor. Students should purchase Bastien Piano Basics: Piano Primer Level before the first class. There is a recital on Wednesday, November 15. Instructor: Baxter Smith Fees: $105(R) $135(N) (10 classes) 105309 Wed Sep 6–Nov 8 6:50–7:50 p.m. 105310 Thu Sep 7–Nov 9 4:30–5:30 p.m. Progressive Piano (age 7–12) This class if for students at any skill level with at least six months of piano experience or approval of instructor. Small class size ensures individual attention from instructor. Students should bring sheet music to the first class to determine skill. There is a recital on Wednesday, November 15.
