Learn about the history of the community we call home! Class ends with a trip to the Cary Heritage Museum. Location: Page-Walker Arts & History Center Instructor: Veronica Bucki Fees: $9(R) $12(N) (1 class) 107973 Thu Oct 5 7–8:30 p.m. 107974 Wed Oct 11 1–2:30 p.m. Friends of Page-Walker Historic Preservation Program: African-American History Harvest Sunday, September 24 | 2–5 p.m. | Free Cary First Christian Church, 1109 Evans Road Discover how to find your family roots and share some local history at the first History Harvest. If you have ever tried to research your family's African-American past and run into obstacles, learn why and how best to overcome those challenges. You are also invited to add to the understanding of our community's rich African American heritage by sharing your family photographs, small memorabilia, and stories about growing up in Cary. Trained staff and volunteers will record your stories and scan photos. There will also be resources on how to care for and protect your family treasures. This program is being presented by the Town of Cary Page-Walker Arts and History Center, the Friends of Page-Walker, and the North Carolina Digital Heritage Center at UNC.
