Children will spend an action packed afternoon with nature center staff creating projects, exploring the winter woods, and participating in exciting nature related activities. Fees: $26(R) $34(N) (1 class) 107318 Sat Dec 2 1–5 p.m. 107319 Sat Dec 9 1–5 p.m. Teen Nature Young Ecologists (age 10–13) Participants will build confidence and make new friends while expanding their knowledge and appreciation of the environment. Each session is primarily a field excursion with a classroom session relevant to a specific nature topic. Equipment provided. Children are dropped off for these programs. Fees: $12(R) $16(N) (1 class) NIGHTTIME FALL NATURE SURVEY Search for salamanders, owls, and more! 107304 Sun Nov 19 4–6 p.m. Youth Nature Curiosity Club (age 5–8) Children will embrace science and nature at the Stevens Nature Center while developing skills and knowledge to satisfy their curiosity about the natural world around them. In these introductory nature programs, they will learn about nature through hands on explorations in the preserve along with fun activities and crafts. Staff-led explorations offer your child the chance to make their own memories while increasing their knowledge of local plants and animals. Our adventures will encourage the understanding and appreciation of the natural world at night. This old-fashioned, camp-style program includes nature activities and crafts, night hikes, and campfire snacks around the fire pit. Each program has a different nature topic.
