NATURE EDUCATION PART TWO REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org 77 Tales and Trails (All ages with caregivers) Experience nature in a whole new way as you and your family listen to and become a part of tales on the trails at Hemlock Bluffs. Each session will focus on a specifi c nature concept. Programs take place outdoors. A shorter program will take place in the event of rain. Fee covers the entire family! Fees: $18(R) $24(N) (1 class) FALL HARVEST Discover what the forest is like in the fall and then decorate a pumpkin to look like a woodland creature. 107320 Sat Oct 7 12:30–2 p.m. STORIES AROUND THE CAMPFIRE Explore the forest as the sun is going down, then listen to stories and enjoy s'mores around the campfi re. 107321 Sat Oct 28 6–7:30 p.m. 107322 Sat Nov 18 4:30–6 p.m. 107323 Sat Dec 16 4:30–6 p.m. Junior Naturalist (age 5–8 with caregiver) Spend quality time with your child in programs that encourage participants to develop their naturalist skills and their understanding of local nature. Through outdoor investigations in the Preserve, participants will become better acquainted with plants and wildlife. A parent attends with each child and fee covers both. Fee: Free National Public Lands Day (age 6 & up with caregivers) Join forces with your friends, family, and neighbors to maintain the trails and resources at Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve. 107308 Sat Sep 30 9:30 a.m.-noon Trail Maintenance (age 16 & up) Assist staff with mulching and other trail improvements. 107306 Sat Oct 21 10 a.m.-noon 107307 Sat Nov 11 2–4 p.m. 107309 Sun Dec 10 2–4 p.m. Nature Education and Outdoor Recreation classes may involve traveling over rough or uneven terrain.
