2017 L AZY DAZE ARTS & CRAFTS FESTIVAL 6 Activities TOWN HALL OUR TOWN Our Town features services and programs provided by the Town of Cary that make living in Cary the best it can be! Find out how to take advantage of the services offered. THE CARY ROADSHOW We've turned the Town Council Chambers into a road version of The Cary Theater! We are screening short films from the North Carolina School of the Arts and an animated Daffy Duck movie. Attendance is free. Food and drink are not allowed inside the theater. Showtimes listed on page 10. PHOTO BOOTH Remember Lazy Daze with a photo! Stop by our photo booth back drop in Town Hall to strike a pose. Then leave with a keepsake print out of your time at the festival. PUBLIC ART EXHIBIT For the second year, Michael Roy Layne is creating Solar Wings, an enlarged, winged creature featuring the use of renewable materials. With the assistance of community volunteers, Layne will be installing this creation for the duration of the festival. HERBERT C. YOUNG COMMUNIT Y CENTER ARTIST GUILD DEMONSTRATIONS Local arts guilds demonstrate their amazing crafts at the community center. Learn about embroidery, leatherworking, and gourd painting with the Twisted Threads Fiber Arts Guild, the Raleigh Leatherworks Guild, and the NC Gourd Society. Outside in Section F, George-ann Greth demonstrates glass-blowing and the Woodturners Guild of NC show how to turn wood. PL AY ZONE Play Zone features kids sporting activites in the Herb Young Community Center gym. Open daily from noon to 5 p.m. OUR OWN SPECIAL
