24 January–May 2018 Cary Senior Center Computer Learning Linux Mint: Free, Safe and Easy-to-Use Alternative to Windows FREE Are you tired of Microsoft Windows' new releases and changes? Are you tired of dealing with viruses and malware problems of Windows? With Linux Mint your computer can do everything most computer users ever want to do for free and with much less aggravation. Learn about Linux Mint and you will love its simplicity, security and stability. We will give you a copy on a DVD or flash drive and show you how to install it and use it. You can even try it without making any changes to your computer by running it from the DVD or flash drive. You can then choose to replace Windows when you are comfortable doing so. Come and learn how. Location: Classroom 302 109552 Tue Apr 17 1:30–4 p.m. Managing Medicare on Internet FREE Now you can save time and money using the Medicare website and the NC Department of Insurance using your computer and getting fast results. Insurance companies change their plans and prices for services and medications annually. Learn how to find a part D plan using the Medicare website. Stay in charge of your Medicare with this class. Location: Classroom 302 (2 classes) 109549 Tue/Thu May 1–3 1:30–4 p.m. c Cary Senior Technology Classes Our computer classes are designed by, and for, senior adults. The classes feature a system which includes small class size, hands-on experience (each student works at a computer), trained teachers, and on-site coaches providing additional assistance. All instructors are senior volunteers! If you are interested in volunteering with the computer program, call (919) 469-4081. To take any of the classes, you must be 50 or older. Scholarships are available for class fees; call (919) 469-4081 for more information. All students are required to bring a 1GB (or larger) thumb drive (flash drive) to class or you can purchase one at the front desk for $10 each.
