SPORTS PART TWO REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org 99 Archery Indoor Archery Club (age 9–17) This six-week course will immerse you in the sport of archery, building upon existing skills and perfecting your technique. Coaching is provided by a USA Archery Instructor. Must have attended a Town of Cary Intro to Archery class. All equipment is provided. May use your own bow. Max draw weight 35lbs. Location: Middle Creek Community Center Instructors: Brian Barnett & Todd Moesch Fees: $99(R) $129(N) (8 classes) 109631 Sun Jan 14–Mar 4 2–4 p.m. Badminton Serve N Play Youth Badminton Training (age 7–15) This is an introductory course to the game of badminton. Kids who have never attended a Serve N Play training program or want to continue to improve on their basic skill sets (such as serve and rally) should sign up for this course. Rackets required or are available to purchase at the first class. Location: Bond Park Community Center Instructor: Serve N Play Instructors Fees: $88(R) $114(N) (8 classes) 110639 Sat Mar 3–May 19 3–4 p.m. (no class Mar 31, Apr 28, May 12) Youth Sports Youth sports programs are designed to provide a fun learning and growing experience for boys and girls. Youth can benefit from league play in baseball, softball, volleyball, basketball, as well as a variety of sports camps/ clinics in volleyball, baseball, golf, softball, tennis, and basketball. These programs are designed to provide a competitive recreation opportunity that promotes fitness and well-being to the participants through team and individual league play. The goals of the program include participation, skill development, sportsmanship, and fun. YOUTH SPORTS PHILOSOPHY Fun—Learning to play for the purpose of enjoying participation. Participation—Providing equal opportunity for play. Sportsmanship—Actively expanding the individual's social ability to demonstrate fair play. Skill Development—Gaining expertise to expand the individual participant's potential through practice and play. General Sports Ultimate Frisbee (age 11–14) Learn the fundamentals of Ultimate Frisbee, including types of throws and cuts and offensive and defensive strategies. There will be skills, drills, and scrimmages every day! The camp will be led by some of the top leaders in the Triangle's Ultimate community. Cost includes disc, shirt, and 2018 USA Ultimate membership. Location: Middle Creek School Park Instructor: Triangle Ultimate Inc. Fees: $84(R) $109(N) (5 classes) 110622 Mon-Fri Apr 2–6 9 a.m.-noon Quidditch (age 11–17) Dodge a bludger, score goals with the quaffle, and find the snitch first! Learn fundamentals behind the United States version of Muggle Quidditch. Learn each of the four positions that are played in the Harry Potter version of Quidditch in a series of practices and scrimmages. Brooms provided. On the first day, you will meet at the Kiwanis Shelter at 5 p.m. Location: Fred G.
