The program registration form in this brochure is not valid for this activity. By popular demand, the Town of Cary has moved from Town-wide organization of spring youth instructional baseball and softball leagues (age 5–10) to an organization of those leagues by geographic zones. The goal is to permit participants in those leagues to practice and play games more frequently at locations closer to their home. The Town will be divided into a West Zone, a Central Zone and a South Zone. The fields located in each of those zones can be found on the map at the right. Each instructional league will be offered in each of the three zones. Individuals may register in whichever zone they choose and are not required to register in a particular zone based on their home address. Each course code corresponds not only to an age group but to a particular zone. When registering please be sure you are using the course code that corresponds to the fields locations at which you wish to practice and play most often. In most age groups, teams will have most or all of their practices in the zone in which they are registered. In most age groups teams will have half or more of their games in the zone in which they are registered. In the age groups with the smallest registration numbers, leagues or even teams may be created from multiple zones and practices and games may take place in multiple zones. Each team's roster will be made up of players from within the same zone. The only exception would be if a zone does not have enough registrants in an age group to create a full team. For more information refer to the Spring Baseball and Softball FAQ page at http://bit.ly/1q09tkU. If you still need further assistance please call (919) 469-4062. Older baseball and softball leagues require fields of a certain size and layout in order to play. Therefore, each league is limited to only a small number of fields with the proper dimensions for that league. The Town does not have fields in each zone of the necessary size for the older leagues. The younger, instructional leagues can play on fields of any dimension, and we therefore can accommodate play for those leagues in any zone.
