SPORTS PART TWO 104 REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org NTC Baseball Academy Hitting Skills and Techniques (age 14–18) This clinic is designed to teach experienced players the fundamentals of hitting, including stance, hitting position, balance, bat path, bat speed, and follow through. Other skills include opposite-fi eld hitting and hitting for power. The clinic will involve several instructional drills and batting cage practice. Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex Instructor: Town of Cary Baseball Instructors Fees: $30(R) $39(N) (1 class) 111175 Sun Mar 4 3–4:30 p.m. NTC Baseball Academy Fielding Skills and Techniques (age 14–18) This clinic is designed to defi ne and enhance the experienced player's fi elding skills and techniques. The focus will be on drills to strengthen athleticism, footwork, and fi elding positions. Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex Instructor: Town of Cary Baseball Instructors Fees: $30(R) $39(N) (1 class) 111176 Sun Mar 4 4:30–6 p.m. NTC Baseball Academy Pitching (11–17) This clinic is for participants who want to become effective pitchers on a competitive stage and covers the wind-up and stretch, pick off moves, and defensive responsibilities. Participants will learn proper arm care as well as tips for making school teams. Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex Instructor: Town of Cary Baseball Instructors Fees: $30(R) $39(N) (1 class) AGE 11–13 111177 Mon Feb 5 6:30–8 p.m. AGE 14–17 111178 Thu Feb 8 6:30–8 p.m. USA Baseball Preseason Skills Series (age 8–11) This series will include six hours of instruction over a series of two days and will focus on the game's fundamental skill sets. USA Baseball Staff and Town of Cary baseball instructors will be working together to bring you the best possible clinic focusing on pitching, hitting, defense, athleticism, and evaluation. All participants will receive a USA Baseball cap. Pre-registration is encouraged, as space is limited. Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex Instructor: USA Baseball Staff & Town of Cary Baseball Instructors Fees: $45(R) $59(N) (2 classes) 111173 Mon Mar 5 & 19 6–8 p.m. (no class Mar 12) Town of Cary Baseball Championship Clinic (ages 8–14) Come learn baseball from some of the nation's best college players and coaches. Registration includes a ticket to a NCAA Division II Championship game on Saturday, June 2, and a Rawlings glove. Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex Instructors: Town of Cary Baseball Instructors and NCAA DII Players and Coaches Fees: $20 (1 class) 111174 Sat May 26 10 a.m.-noon One-on-One Baseball Lessons The Town of Cary offers year round 1-on-1 baseball lessons from qualifi ed instructors for youth ages 7–17. Lessons are $30 per half hour or $45 per hour. Schedule a hitting, fi elding, or pitching lesson today. Lessons can be booked through the Town of Cary EZ-Reg system. Lesson availability will be added onto EZ-Reg each month starting on the 25th of each month prior. (For example, March lessons will become available February 25.) Please note that youth under 10 years of age can register only for half-hour lessons. Please email TOCInstructors@ townofcary.org with any lesson-related questions. PRIVATE INSTRUCTION Volunteer Coaches We need you! We rely on volunteer coaches for our youth sports leagues. Coaches must be available for weekly practices and games, be certifi ed by the National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS), and submit and pass a background check.
