SPORTS PART TWO REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org 107 Beginning Fencing Level I (age 11–17) Students will be introduced to the Olympic sport of fencing in a fun and challenging environment. The focus will be on learning the basics, including the footwork and blade skills needed for bouting. Location: Middle Creek Community Center Instructor: Apex Fencing Academy Fees: $105(R) $135(N) (6 classes) 110638 Mon Jan 8–Feb 19 7:15- 8:15 p.m. This class has an end of season tournament on February 24. Fees: $117(R) $147(N) (7 classes) 110637 Mon Feb 26–Apr 16 7:15–8:15 p.m. (no class Apr 2) This class has an end of season tournament on April 21. Fees: $105(R) $135(N) (6 classes) 110653 Mon Apr 23–Jun 4 7:15–8:15 p.m. This class has an end of season tournament on June 9. Fencing U10 Fencing (age 7–10) This class is geared to the youngest fencers, who will learn the basics of fencing in a fun class including games. This is a mixed class that includes both new and returning fencers. Practice uniforms are mandatory. Location: Middle Creek Community Center Instructor: Apex Fencing Academy Fees: $120(R) $150(N) (7 classes) 110630 Tue Jan 9–Feb 20 6–7 p.m. This class has an end of season tournament on February 24. 110632 Tue Feb 27–Apr 17 6–7 p.m. (no class Apr 3) This class has an end of season tournament on April 21. 110633 Tue Apr 24–Jun 5 6–7 p.m. This class has an end of season tournament on June 9. Fencing Uniforms Practice uniforms are mandatory for all fencing classes. They may be rented for $50 or participants may provide their own. For more information, contact the instructor. Annual $10 USA Fencing membership must be purchased.
