Middle school- aged kids and their parents will learn social skills through role plays to notice problems and take action on unsafe behavior, set boundaries, speak up against bullying, stay emotionally safe, leave a situation, and get help. Little Veterinarian School— The ABCs of Dog Care (age 5–10) This class encourages children to explore the field of veterinary medicine. Using crafts and games, children learn how to take care of a pet and use instruments that veterinarians use. Students will adopt a stuffed animal dog and learn about appropriate nutrition/hydration, ticks, immunizations/medications, and how to treat injuries. In this class, participants will learn age-appropriate social safety skills so they might experience fewer problems with peers, family, strangers, and others at school, at home, and online.
