You should have successfully completed Woodworking Basics or have a good understanding of woodworking machine use and safety practices before enrolling in the intermediate courses or technique workshops. LATHE: BEYOND BASICS This class is the next step in our introductory program. You will learn more advanced techniques and processes of turning wood on a lathe. A limited amount of turning stock is available for purchase from the Cary Arts Center. Tools are available for use. Supplies are not included. Includes presentation, demonstration, practice, and constructive critique. Prerequisite: Basic Photography or an understanding of the Exposure Triangle. You will learn the tools, techniques, and processes of turning wood on a lathe. It's also a great refresher for those who have just begun lathe-turning and want more guided practice.
