PART TWO HALF DAY CAMPS REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org 43 Basketball Basketball Skills, Drills & Fun (age 5–8) This camp focuses on skill development, as well as situational and individual play. Enjoy learning the game and have fun at the same time! Location: Herbert C. Young Community Center Instructor: Inc. Learn how to dribble, catch, pass, shoot, pivot, play defense and more! This is a great camp for beginners and intermediate players. Coach Williams is a USA Certified youth development basketball coach. Location: Middle Creek Community Center Instructor: Gary Williams Fees: $125(R) $155(N) (5 classes) 112709 Mon–Fri Jun 25–29 1–4 p.m. T1 112710 Mon–Fri Aug 20–24 9 a.m.–noon T2 Intermediate Softball Camp (age 8–14) This camp is for athletes who have played at least two seasons of organized softball. Review the fundamentals of the game, hone skills, learn game strategy, and practice smart base running. For players interested in pitcher and catcher positions, specialized training will be available. Learn agility drills and do conditioning work. Players should bring a softball glove to camp. All other equipment will be provided. Instructor: Town of Cary Softball Instructors Fees: $96(R) $125(N) (4 classes) Location: Mills Park Softball Field 112885 Mon–Fri Jul 16–20 8:30 a.m.–noon T4 (No Camp on July 18) Fees: $120(R) $150(N) (5 classes) Location: Mills Park Softball Field 112886 Mon–Fri Aug 6–10 8:30 a.m.–noon T3 Next Level Softball Camp (age 11–15) This camp is for players have played competitive softball. Practice skill-development drills that strengthen throwing, catching, fielding, and hitting. We will focus on fine-tuning player mechanics and understanding strategies that win games. Be confident on the field and in the batter's box. Players should wear softball pants and cleats and bring all of their equipment. Instructor: Town of Cary Softball Instructors Fees: $103(R) $133(N) (4 classes) Location: Mills Park, Softball Field 112887 Mon–Thu Jun 25–28 9 a.m.–noon T1 112888 Mon–Thu Jul 23–26 6–9 p.m. T4 NTC Softball Academy This camp is for advanced players who are in rising grades 8 to 12. Players who register for this camp should be playing, or have played, school or travel softball. The 6-session program will combine strength, conditioning, agility, mechanics, skills, speed and power. We will cover all aspects of the game including throwing, fielding (in and out), hitting, bunting, slapping, base running, on-field communication and winning strategies. Our team of instructors will make a final determination as to whether this is an appropriate program for you.
