NATURE EDUCATION PART TWO 52 REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org Family Programs (all ages with caregivers) Outdoor explorations strengthen family bonds while building awareness and appreciation of the natural world. Spend some quality time experiencing the fun of being together at Hemlock Bluffs with your family. Fee covers the entire family! Location: Stevens Nature Center/Hemlock Bluffs Fees: $12(R) $16(N) (1 class) FAMILY SWIFT CREEK ADVENTURE We will search Swift Creek for crayfish, salamanders, fish, and more! Wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get wet. Equipment provided. 114776 Sun Jun 17 3–4:30 p.m. SUMMER NATURE STROLL Beat the summer heat with this morning stroll to look for birds, bugs, and lizards. 114777 Sat Jul 28 10–11:30 a.m. "Gourd"-ous Pollinators (age 3-10 with caregiver) Flutter into the world of the Very Hungry Caterpillar and learn about the special relationship that butterflies and bees have with flowers. Decorate a set of pollinator wings to wear and engage in a pollinator activity. Bring a chair or blanket to sit upon during story time. Location: Good Hope Farm Fees: Free 15149 Sat Aug 4 9:30-10:30 a.m. Junior Naturalist (age 5–8 with caregivers) Spend quality time with your child in programs that encourage participants to develop their naturalist skills and their understanding of local nature. Through outdoor investigations in the Preserve, participants will become better acquainted with plants and wildlife while enjoying a shared learning experience. A parent attends with each child, and fee covers both. Location: Stevens Nature Center/Hemlock Bluffs Fees: $8(R) $10(N) (1 class) BEES AND BUTTERFLIES 114773 Sat Jun 16 2–3 p.m. BATS AND FIREFLIES 114774 Sat Jul 7 8–9 p.m. HUMMINGBIRDS 114775 Sun Aug 26 2–3 p.m. Family Tales and Trails (all ages with caregivers) Experience nature in a whole new way as you and your family listen to and become a part of tales on the trails at Hemlock Bluffs. Programs take place outdoors. A slightly shorter program will take place in the event of rain. Fee covers the entire family!
