VISUAL ARTS PART TWO 40 REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org Woodworking Beginning Lathe—Basics This class is an introductory course for beginning students. Students will learn the tools, techniques, and processes of turning wood on a lathe. It's also a great refresher for those who've just begun lathe turning and want more guided practice. Tools are available for use. It combines power tool and hand tool techniques. Advanced skills that will be practiced include dovetailing, mortise and tenon joinery, and panel glue-ups. Instructor: Charles Lankford Fees: $163(R) $193(N) (6 classes) 114071 Thu Jun 14–Jul 19 6–9:30 p.m. Curved-lid Keepsake Box Simple to build for beginners, but challenging enough for experienced woodworkers, an attractive curved-lid box may be used for jewelry, tea, or other keepsakes. Students will use the table saw, the router table, drills, and other power tools to build and finish this box. Supplies included.
