NATURE EDUCATION PART TWO 50 REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org Adult Adult Nature Programs (age 16 & up) Stretch your legs, clear your mind, and experience nature. You'll continue your lifelong learning through informative and educational nature walks that are focused on seasonal plant and wildlife activity. These programs may involve slow walking on steps. Late summer is a good time to find lots of ferns, fungi, and other small woodland plants. 113904 Sat Aug 25 10–11:30 a.m. Adult Nature Workshops (age 18 & up) Pick up tips, techniques, and hands-on experience to prepare you to get started on your backyard projects. Meet your neighbors and make new friends while enjoying these informative workshops. Location: Stevens Nature Center/Hemlock Bluffs Fees: $14(R) $18(N) (1 class) BACKYARDS FOR WILDLIFE Transform your backyard into a better place for birds, butterflies, and more. Hummingbird feeder provided. 113907 Sat Jul 14 10 a.m.–noon NATURE PHOTOS MADE EASY Expert photographer Bill Stice will cover the basics of summer nature photography. 113908 Sat Aug 11 10 a.m.–noon Teen Young Ecologists (age 10–13) Build confidence and make new friends while expanding your knowledge and appreciation of the environment. Each session includes a field excursion with a classroom session relevant to a specific nature topic. Equipment provided. Location: Stevens Nature Center/Hemlock Bluffs Fees: $8(R) $10(N) (1 class) SUMMER WILDLIFE SURVEY Explore Swift Creek and the surrounding wetland as we search for snakes, salamanders, turtles, and more. 114771 Sat Aug 18 10 a.m.–noon Hemlock Nature Quest (age 13–15) Journey to the far corners of the Preserve on a quest to find nature rarely seen by the public or other program participants. Dress for the weather and off-trail conditions. Participants are eligible to volunteer as program assistants for our younger nature programs.
