FITNESS & WELLNESS PART TWO REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org 59 Zumba ® Kids Jr. (age 4–6) This class is perfect for younger Zumba ® fans! Kids get the chance to be active and jam out to their favorite music. Class features kid-friendly routines based on original Zumba ® choreography. We break down the steps, then add games, activities, and cultural exploration elements into the class structure. Location: Bond Park Community Center Instructor: Tiffany Schick Fees: $39(R) $51(N) (5 classes) 114430 Sat Jun 23–Aug 4 9:30–10:15 a.m. (No class July 7, 21) Youth Tumbling Fun (age K5–10) Learn basic floor gymnastic moves, including forward rolls, handstands, and cartwheels along with conditioning and flexibility. Through asanas (postures), vinyasas (putting postures together in a flowing manner), pranayama (breathing techniques), and meditation, you will learn that you have control over your body, mind, and breath. Location: Middle Creek Community Center Instructor: Stacy Smith Fees: $55(R) $71(N) (6 classes) 114316 Tue Jun 5–Jul 17 5–5:45 p.m. (No class July 3) 114315 Tue Jul 24–Aug 28 5–5:45 p.m. Triangle Aquatics Center TITANS SWIM ACADEMY This is a learn-to-swim program that focuses on safety and technique. The Academy provides low swimmer-to-instructor ratios and flexible time offerings. Swimmers advance at their own pace. Age 6 months & up. TORPEDOES SUMMER SWIM TEAM This is a three-month program for all ability levels, including those who want an introduction to competitive swimming or those who desire an enjoyable and fun way to improve their skills. Swimmers compete in six meets against other teams in the Tarheel Swim Association (TSA). Age 5–18. JR LIFEGUARD CAMP This weeklong Junior Lifeguard Camp will emphasize aquatic safety, first aid, CPR/AED, and lifeguard conditioning. All participants must possess basic swimming skills and be comfortable in deep water. Age 9–14. CERTIFICATION CLASSES TAC offers American Red Cross Lifeguard, Lifeguard Instructor, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, and CPR/AED classes.
