SPORTS PART TWO 66 REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org Volleyball Youth Volleyball Skills (age 9–12) This class is designed for those new to the game of volleyball or those with less experience. Learn and develop the basic skills and techniques involved in playing volleyball. The focus will be on fundamentals at each participant's individual skill level and experience, which will be applied to game situations. Location: Bond Park Community Center Fees: $84(R) $109(N) (8 classes) 109659 Tue, Thu Jun 5–28 5:45–7:15 p.m. Teen Volleyball Skills (age 13–16) Advance your individual skills in serving, passing, setting, and hitting and learn the rotations, rules, and offensive strategies of volleyball. Instruction will be modified for the participant's level of play and skills. Location: Bond Park Community Center Fees: $110(R) $140(N) (8 classes) 109657 Tue, Thu Jun 5–28 7:15–8:45 p.m. Volunteer Coaches We need you! We rely on volunteer coaches for our youth sports leagues. Coaches must be available for weekly practices and games, be certified by the National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS), and submit and pass a background check. It is important that coaches teach sportsmanship as well as specific sport skills. Interested? Contact us at (919) 469-4062, Mon–Fri, 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m. Basketball Achievers One-on-One & Small Group Instruction (age 6–17) This instructional training is for the athlete who is serious about learning basketball fundamentals. As an ongoing program, this training offers skill development in ball handling, passing, shooting, and defensive techniques. Pre- and post-assessment will be given with recommendations for future development. Location: Middle Creek Community Center Instructor: Gary Williams INDIVIDUAL SINGLE SESSION Fees: $55(R) $72(N) INDIVIDUAL 3–SESSION $140(R) $170(N) All three dates must be scheduled at time of registration and must be scheduled within 60 days of first class. SMALL GROUP SESSION (min. 2/max. 6) Fees: $40(R) $52(N) TEAM SESSION (min. 4/Max. 8) Fees: $20(R) $26(N) One-on-One Baseball & Softball Lessons The Town of Cary offers year-round one-on- one baseball and softball lessons from qualified instructors for youth ages 7–17. Lessons are $30 per half hour or $45 per hour. Schedule a hitting, fielding, or pitching lesson today. Lessons can be booked through the Town of Cary EZ-Reg system. Lesson availability will be added onto EZ-Reg each month starting on the 25th of each month prior (for example, June lessons will become available May 25). Please note that youth under 10 years of age can register only for half-hour lessons. Please email TOCInstructors@townofcary.org with any lesson- related questions. PRIVATE INSTRUCTION In case of inclement weather, the decision to play or not will be made by the Sports Staff. Information will be on the Town website at http:// games.townofcarync.gov/. A recording will also be on the Weather Cancellation Line at (919) 319- 4500. Updates are made at 3 p.m. each weekday, 7 a.m. on Saturday, and noon on Sunday. If a decision is made after these times, it will be announced by the officials at the facility.
