Review sample test questions and learn "facts and hacks" about the ACT and SAT to determine which test will give you the best score. Leave with extensive handouts, a solid understanding of each test, test-taking tips, and a test preparation strategy. Location: Herbert C. The college admissions process can be very stressful and time consuming for the entire family. This workshop will provide tips on academic performance, extracurricular activity participation, college preparation, and how colleges read applications. Register only one family member and follow registration prompts to register other family members attending. Location: Herbert C. Young Community Center Instructor: Rhonda Manns, A2Z College Planning Fees: $5(R) $7(N) (1 class) 112512 Sat Jul 28 11 a.m.–noon Exploring Career and College Pathways (age 11–17) No idea what career you want to pursue or which colleges to apply for? No problem! There are plenty of satisfying careers out there for you. We'll take you through the process step-by-step and you'll discover what makes you uniquely you. Then, find out how to research those careers, gain experience, and plan your next steps. And, you'll have fun doing it! Promise. Location: Herbert C. Young Community Center Instructor: Amanda Chamberlain Fees: $195(R) $225(N) (3 classes) 113597 Mon, Wed, Fri Aug 6–10 1–4 p.m. ACT Math Test Prep (age 13–17) This class focuses exclusively on the six content areas covered by the ACT Math Test: pre-algebra, elementary algebra, intermediate algebra, coordinate geometry, plane geometry, and trigonometry. Students will learn concepts, practice actual ACT math problems, learn ACT test-taking tips, and build their overall confidence in math. ACT book included. Location: Middle Creek Community Center Instructor: Bobby Picha Fees: $189(R) $219(N) (6 classes) 114117 Sat Jul 21–Aug 25 11 a.m.–1 p.m. SAT Prep Class—Reading and Math (age 14–17) This class offers direct instruction of SAT math and reading concepts, SAT problem solving, test-taking strategies, practice, and confidence building. Class will help students gain 100–200 points on the SAT. One hour of reading/one hour of math per session. PSAT students are welcome to attend to get a head start on preparation. Location: Herbert C. Early registration allows us time to plan appropriately. Often, we are able to accommodate those on waiting lists by adding additional spots in the class or adding additional classes.
