This show will feature two-dimensional art made by local residents over the age of 55. ART55 will be limited to the first 55 works delivered to the Cary Senior Center on Monday, June 25 from 1–3 p.m. Entry fee will be $15 per item (two items per artist allowed). JULY/AUGUST Heather Gerni: In Reveries and Realities: The Cosmic Lift Media: Acrylics Cary Senior Center Exhibit opens Monday, July 23, closes Friday, August 17 Artists' Reception: Friday, July 27 6–8 p.m. Pittsboro artist Heather Gerni meshes everyday rational imagery with fantasy. Her vibrant dreamscapes and creatures are created through Intuitive Painting, a process in which neither the composition nor the subject matter is planned. Instead, each layer of paint informs the next lending way for stories and characters to naturally emerge and evolve.
