During this time you will learn what volunteer opportunities take place here and how the call list works. 113503 Fri Jun 8 11 a.m.-noon Summer Volunteer List If you are interested in donating some of your time to help the Cary Senior Center then register for this program using the course code below. By registering for this program you will be added to a volunteer call list for the 2018 Summer Season. When different volunteer opportunities arise we then contact those on the list for help. Remember this list only lasts for one season so make sure you register each brochure if you want to remain on the call list. Summer Volunteer List Code: 113504 Volunteer Stitchers Volunteers sew, knit and crochet a variety of dolls, quilts, and other goodies to be donated to local hospitals and care centers! More volunteers are always welcome, please join us in giving. Donations of clean acrylic yarns, cotton cloth and other items are needed. Please check with the Cary Senior Center front desk for details by calling (919) 469-4081. Location: Ballroom 113502 Every Monday 9–11:30 a.m. Warm Up America Grab your knitting needles, scrap yarn and warm heart! Help knit and crochet warm blankets that will be donated to a variety of charities in the area. Your self-expression provides warmth and hope for so many. Some yarn will be provided; donations accepted. Location: Classroom 303 113508 3rd Thursday Monthly 1–4 p.m. c Volunteer Opportunities c Registration Required Every Cary Senior Center program, trip, and event requires registration. You will receive a confirmation/receipt, to keep as a reminder. Record your course registrations on your calendar because we cannot guarantee a reminder. c Cary Total Life Center Cary Total Life Center (TLC), housed within Bond Park adjacent to the Cary Senior Center, is a unique Adult Day Care Service operation. Cary TLC is one of six Adult Day Care Programs run by Resources for Seniors, Inc. throughout Wake County. Cary TLC offers needed care for ambulatory and semi ambulatory, dependent adults – especially those with memory loss and physical disabilities. Cary TLC includes social, recreational, and stimulating activities in a safe and supportive environment. Staff work to promote a sense of self-worth and dignity through gentle, sensitive care, and kindness. We offer assistance to avoid an early and/or inappropriate institutional placement of a loved one. We also provide education, motivation, and support for caregivers. Each TLC day feature a fun-filled schedule with meals, exercise, music, social experiences, discussions, arts & crafts, and much more!
