WHAT'S GOING ON Stevens Nature Center Celebrating 25 years Preserve Facts: • The Stevens Nature Center is named in honor of the late Colonel W.W. Stevens and his wife, Emily. • Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve is 140 acres of State Nature Preserve managed by the Town of Cary. • Preserve has 3 miles of trails, some of which runs along Swift Creek Guidelines for Hiking • Dress for success and remember sun safety! Wear hats and apply sunscreen while spending time outdoors to protect your skin from UV Rays. Also, wear closed-toed shoes while walking on trails and greenways; this will help prevent any snake or insect bites! • Do not touch animals that you may encounter. Animals can be dangerous and some carry harmful diseases. • Prevent break-ins and protect your personal belongings. Never leave them in plain view inside of your car. • Know your limits and listen to your body! Bring a water bottle with you on the trail and take breaks when walking in the heat. • Take advantage of the coolest part of the day by walking in the morning. EVENT SPOTLIGHT Ice Cream Social Join on Tuesday, July 3 at 2 p.m. for this tasty event! Not only do we enjoy delicious ice cream treats, but we are entertained by the Bond Park Community Center day camp. The annual event is Co-sponsored by Ashworth Drugs and the Rotary Club of Cary.
