6 A GUIDE FOR WORKING WITH THE TOWN OF CARY ■ Human Resources: Recruits, develops, and supports a skilled workforce through personnel programs, safety initiatives, and benefits administration. ■ Information Technology: Provides IT support and solutions to enhance the efficiency of Cary services. ■ Inspections and Permits: Reviews building plans, issues permits, and enforces building codes and local laws to help to ensure safe construction. ■ Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources: Offers high-quality programs and operates parks, greenways, and nationally accredited special venues like Koka Booth Amphitheatre. ■ Planning and Development Services: Guides growth through comprehensive planning, zoning enforcement, development review, and housing and redevelopment initiatives. ■ Police: Helps ensure public safety through proactive partnerships, investigations, emergency communications, and community-focused programs. ■ Public Works: Maintains infrastructure, including streets, buildings, utilities, and fleet, while managing waste collection and beautification efforts. ■ Town Attorney's Office: Acts as the legal advisor to the Town Council and staff. ■ Town Manager's Office: Oversees operations and implements Council policies. Office includes economic development, organizational development, capital planning, housing, environment, and stormwater. ■ Town Clerk's Office: Supports Town Council by managing records, preparing agendas, and maintaining legal documents and ordinances. ■ Transportation: Plans, designs, and constructs transportation infrastructure, addresses traffic engineering and safety issues, and operates Cary's traffic management center. ■ Utilities: Helps to ensure a safe, reliable water supply and manages water, wastewater, and reclaimed water systems for regional communities.
