S A N I TA R Y S E W E R O V E R F L O W S A sanitary sewer overflow (SSO) occurs when sewage is unintentionally released from Cary's sewer system, homes, or businesses before it reaches the treatment plant. WE ARE PLEASED TO REPORT THAT NO REPORTABLE SEWER OVERFLOWS OCCURRED DURING THE FISCAL YEAR (FY) 2025 REPORTING PERIOD OF JULY 1, 2024 TO JUNE 30, 2025. This is due to excellent preventative maintenance, monitoring, and proactive system repairs that keep the sewer system working optimally.
