6 FILM, VIDEO, PHOTOGRAPHY GUIDE PRODUCTION CL ASSIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS The amount of oversight and/or resources Cary will need to devote to supporting the Guiding Principles largely depends on each production's impact on the community: the greater the impact, the greater the necessary oversight/ resources. For this guide, impacts are classified as low, moderate, or high. LO W C O M M U N I T Y I M PAC T Productions described by all of the following are considered low-impact: ■ No exclusive or after-hours use of all or any portion of a public facility, such as a Cary-owned building, park, or street ■ No impact to typical vehicle or pedestrian movement on public streets, sidewalks, trails, or greenways ■ No generator ■ No amplified sound ■ Five or fewer production members, including talent and crew ■ No audience is present ■ No drones are used ■ No wild, exotic, or non-domestic animals ■ No pyrotechnics or other special effects ■ No filming from a moving vehicle ■ No modification of park facilities and grounds R E Q U I R E M E N TS O F LO W - I M PAC T P R O D U C T I O N S If your production meets all the criteria for a low-impact classification, you will need to address the following before beginning activities in Cary: Contact Marketing & Creative Manager Kristy Buchanan at kristy.buchanan@carync.gov to advise Cary of your plans, provide us with an opportunity to ask questions, and ensure that there are no known conflicts with the schedule or location of your proposed production. Receive, review, and certify in writing (letter or email) that everyone involved with the production will abide by Cary's Code of Conduct for film, video, and photography productions. The marketing division is responsible for facilitating coordination between the production and Cary as necessary. Contacting Cary as soon as possible — preferably at least one week in advance —will help ensure your production proceeds smoothly.
