At a time when we must prioritize resources carefully, our ability to sustain Cary's high standards depends not just on managing every dollar wisely but also on inviting others to join us in the work. We've seen the power of that collaboration through several efforts this quarter. The Shane Pegram Family Foundation's $400,000 gift will renew Davis Drive Park's playground, ensuring another generation of families can enjoy the community space designed with accessibility in mind. A $25,000 Duke Energy Foundation grant will enable us to plant 200 trees where they are needed most. The new children's sensory garden at the Page-Walker Arts and History Center exists entirely because of staff, donations, and volunteers who cared enough to make it happen. Events like Scam Jam and the Senior Home Fair reflected that same community spirit, with partners coming together to help older adults stay safe, informed, and connected. And Cary's new FEMA flood rating means residents could see real savings on insurance, the result of long-term investments in stormwater and floodplain management. Careful financial management will always matter, but it's the shared commitment from Council, citizens, community partners, and staff that keeps Cary resilient and able to adapt. Cary's strength has never come from a single source, but rather from a combination of good stewardship, trusted partnerships, and a shared belief that we can always make things better. We look forward to sharing further updates at the Quarterly Meeting on Nov. 13 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Parkside Town Commons. In appreciation, Sean R. Stegall Town Manager
